Antirheumatic and antiinflammatory agent (A) of plant and/or bacterial origin comprises a mixt. of low mol.wt. amino acid contg. cpds. Pref. the cpds. are of mol.wt. 200-30000 with a relatively high content of Gln, Glu, Asn and Asp, but low contents of Leu, Cys, Trp, Gly and Glu derivs. They have specific affinity for sugars and include carboxy-bound metals. USE/ADVANTAGE - (A) is used to treat inflammation, rheumatism and autoimmune diseases without the side effects of usual antiflammatories. It has a rapid but long lasting action at 100-1000 times lower doses than usual agents. (A) is admin. orally, topically or by injection
