Electrical cable anchor - uses two u=shaped half shells, with legs carrying profile pieces with back taper, working with tapered wedges

The cable anchor is formed from two U-shaped half-shells (3) which abut so as to enclose a hollow space (6). On their outside, they have suspension pivots (4). The ends (5) of the shell legs carry profile pieces (8) with back tapers (9) which work in conjunction with clamping wedges for anchoring the conductor. The wedges are V-shaped whose surfaces bear on the profile pieces, and thus against the legs of the anchor. The profile pieces have tongues (10) which slide in grooves in the legs of the half-shells. Alternatively, they may have pegs which are plugged into holes in the legs. ADVANTAGE Easily mfd. by drop-forging, and profile pieces can be sections cut off from long bar.
