The circuit measures the inclination using an inclination responsive sensor. A measurement value is formed from these signals during a specified time duration, and this measurement value is compared with a stored reference value. An alarm is activated if the measurement value deviates from the reference value by more than a specified tolerance value. The sensor is a semiconductor component, the resistance of which alters under the influence of a deflection. The circuit includes a deflectable beam (12), clamped at both ends (14,16) in the motor vehicle (18). A weight (20) is arranged in the centre of the beam, and the sensor lies in a bridge circuit, and this is connected to processing circuitry for averaging and storage of the signals. Strain gauges are arranged at least on one side of the sensor and these form a bridge circuit. ADVANTAGE - Sensor is produced in micro-engineering using cost effective producible semiconductor component.
