The appts. to assemble insulating glass panes, together with distance holders as a frame round the edges of the panes, has a support and holders at a variable gap from each other. The holder is divided into two parts behind each other in the direction of travel, each at a variable gap from the support independently of each other. Each holder section has a suction unit. USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. is for the assembly of two glass insulating panes into a double glazing unit. The mechanism reduces the cycle time when glass panes are passed through for assembly with an air space between them of a variable thickness and/or width.
