Sepn. of joined metal and non-metal components by means of rollers - useful for the recovery of copper@, aluminium@ and silver@ conductors and polymer insulation from electrical cables

Sepn. of joined metal and non-metal components, pref. insulated cables and opt. insulated cable joints into separated cable and insulation material is claimed. The sepn. takes place by means of rollers that rotate at different speeds producing a shear velocity of 0.000001-100,000(0.001-10,000), pref. 1-100 l/s. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is useful for the recovery of copper, aluminium, silver and polymeric insulation from cables. The conductors are recovered as separate strands and the insulation does not contain small metallic particles.
