The change dispensing mechanism can be operated via a key switch (23) to allow an amount of money indicated by a counter to be paid out from the coin stacks within the amusement machine. The operation of the key switch (23) blocks the coin checking device for inserted coins and allows insertion of tokens which are diverted to a supply reservoir (40,41). The value of the inserted tokens is recorded and the corresponding amount of change dispensed, upon removal of the key. The mechanism can handle tokens of different value, which are checked and fed to respective supply reservoirs. USE - For allowing authorised personnel to exchange playing tokens for money.
