Output characteristic test appts. for testing inductive or capacitive load control device - uses simulator having processor controlling components producing simulated load current

The appts. tests the controller in a mode as if it were connected to the load. A simulator (209) connected to the controller (201) contains a processor (210) which detects the instantaneous switching state of the load defined by the controller. The processor controls several components (216-219) according to the detected switching state and the parameters of the load to be simulated. The components produce a measurable current corresp. to the current of the simulated load. USE/ADVANTAGE - For testing control unit for current-regulated valves in motor vehicles without operating the valves. Simpler functional tests are achieved.
