The testing device uses a test signal generator (RG, SG) coupled to one input of an amplifier (V1) coupled to a transducer group (HG1), or to the transducer group itself via a switching device (R2). A second switching device allows the evaluation device normally coupled to the amplifier to be coupled to the output of a different transducer group, upon application of the test signals to the transducer group and to be coupled to the amplifier when the test signals are supported to its input. The test signal generator and the evaluation device are connected to all the transducer groups or amplifiers in sequence, during the full test cycle, e.g. using a stored test programme.
