Plain knitting method, for circular knitters - holds new stitch at constant longitudinal extension as it is transferred between two knitting positions prevents irregularities

Method uses a knitter where the sinkers give a moving, knocking-over action and the needles move across them and as the new stitch is transferred between the two knitting positions it is held at a constant longitudinal extension. As the new stitch is transferred, the stitch loop is pref. moved at the base away from the needle by the same amt. as the top of the stitch loop is moved from the needle along the needle line. The base of the stitch loop is pref. moved by the control edges of the sinker at an angle to the knocking-over edge. The stitch loop is pref. relaxed after it reaches the 2nd position in the transfer, and is moved at least partially against the needle movement during needle extension or retraction for part of the needle movement time. The movement is applied by the guide edges angled or curved downwards in relation to the knocking-over edge. The guide edges (90,91) have a downwards curve, directly at the shoulder (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for plain knitting with circular knitters. The action on the newly formed stitch prevents any irregularity in the fabric through machine running heat etc. and gives less strain on the needles.
