Mat and method for regenerating old lawns - has mat spread over levelled old lawns and is provided with attached grass seeds and integral nutrients

The old lawn (2) is cut very short and any stones etc. removed. The lawn is levelled and covered with a thin sand screed (7). The prepared growing mat (3) of biodegradable fibres has grass seeds (4) attached. It is watered and the seeds germinate to form the basis of the new lawn. The grass seed is attached to the mat by degradable adhesive, e.g. cellulose based glues. The seed can be pre-germinated before the mat is laid to minimise bird damage. ADVANTAGE - No need to cultivate old lawn soil, simple to apply.
