The device includes a rotation element which is driven by a motor at a constant angular speed. The rotation element (1) is designed as a symmetrical cone (1) which along its periphery has a guide (4) arranged spiral shaped in relation to the conical longitudinal axis (2). A flexible coupling element (5), connectable to the specimen (6), is embedded in the guide (4). The spiral formed guide is provided with a gradient course specified by the acceleration, relative to the longitudinal axis (2) of the cone (1). The cone has an essentially triangular shaped longitudinal cross section. USE/ADVANTAGE - For determining mass of specimen under influence of weightlessness in space. Constant acceleration is given and sensitivity to alterations of boundary conditions is reduced.
