The appts. is positioned in an excavated pit (54). The pipe sections (64) are driven forward by a hydralic ram (72) or similar from behind. At the front of the pipe (74), a leading profile placed on the pipe. In this profile a jetting head (76) is positioned to carry away the spoil from within the pipe. The jets on the head are directed at an inclined angle away from the direction of travel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Pipe laying device can be used with flexible plastics pipes and places pipes in ground without digging continuous trench.
