The inclined cheek in its layout between the base surface (7) and the cover surface (8) has at least one inclination change. Two opposing cheeks (3,5) have with inclination changes between the base and cover surfaces, the changes at the same height being in the same direction. The inclination change in relation to the main flow direction (6) is symmetrically directed, and the change amounts to 60 deg. At least one inclined cheek (3,5) in the base and cover surfaces is located in the same position as the corresp. cheek of a known shaped brick, which has no inclination change. USE/ADVANTAGE - Shaped brick for construction of grids in heat exchangers, esp. of regenerators for smelt furnaces in industry, and which can have cross- or H-shape.
