The light fitting has a lamp socket (1) fully enclosed by a housing (5) which partially encloses the reflector of the LV reflector lamp (2). The housing is provided by a manually compressible coil spring wound from a metal wire, one end of which is secured to the end of the lamp socket (1). Furthest from the LV reflector lamp, the spaces between its adjacent coils providing ventilation openings. Pref. the spring coils have a reduced dia. at the end of the coil spring which is attached to the lamp socket via. a threaded sleeve (6) with an annular shoulder (7) of greater dia. than the min. dia (D) of the spring coils. ADVANTAGE - Low-cost light fitting allowing free access to lamp socket for changing lamp.
