The cutting head (4) is slowly contacted with a grinding plate (3) covered with grinding material (9). The cutting head (4) totates at a predetermined velocity and all cutters (6) are simultaneously ground. Appts. for grinding the cutters (6) pref. comprises a cutting tool head (4) on a fixed axis, and the cutters (6) are concentric in a housing (2). A grinding plate (3) is mounted on the housing (2) and is axially in front of the cutting tool head (4) and in a plane parallel with it. A layer of grinding material (9) is applied to the grinding plate (3) face opposing the cutting tool head (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for honing and aligning the cutters of a cutting tool head in a thermoplastics granulator. Achieves precise parallelism of the cutters wrt the cutting surface of the orifice plate.
