Opto-metric appts. for measuring visual acuity and refractive power - projects and reflects optical image of test card towards eye of subject using subjective refractor with position control

The optometric device contains an arrangement for projecting (28) the optical image of a test card which is reflected (30) towards the eyes (E) of a test person. A subjective refractor (1) with variable refractive properties is mounted between the reflector and eyes and is vertically movable (22) w.r.t. the eyes. A position detector measures the positions of measurement windows of the subjective refractor. A reflector movement drive is controlled according to the position data to produce a defined positional relationship between the reflector, eyes and subjective refractor. ADVANTAGE - Requires relatively little space for eye testing with accuracy of conventional equipment.
