In a novel appts. for the disposal of waste water contg. solid impurities: - the water flows via at least one drainage channel (2) into a collecting tank (3), - the collecting tank is divided into an inlet part (5) and an outlet part (6) which has an outlet connection (7), - at least one filter surface (4) is located between the inlet and outlet parts of the collection tank, and - a conveyor (8) is located in the inlet part, and serves to remove deposited solids; the water drains away via the outlet part, and the solid material is delivered by the conveyor into a container (9) or a disposal vehicle. Also claimed is a procedure for operation of the appts. by which the water level in the inlet part is measured, indicating the quantity of deposited solids which has accumulated, and the conveyor is automatically started when a predetermined level is reached. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in abattoirs and in areas where animals/cattle are loaded onto/off transport vehicles. The solids are sepd. from the waste water in a simple manner and can readily be separately disposed of.
