Positioning device for holding in place copper tubing as it is cast inside on aluminium frame consists of support plates held together by spacer keys (7) which when turned lock the plate together as well as provide support surfaces (11) for the parallel running tubing. The keys are located in the gaps between the tubing. The length (14) of each key corresponds to the distance between the mould inner walls. The keys may have end flanges which can be tightened onto the support plates via screws or rivets. USE/ADVANTAGE - Producing cool plates for data equipment. The support keys and holding plates prevent the tubing moving about under the intense heat generated during casting, and thereby ensure the correct placement of each length of tubing inside the casting which enables the casting to be drilled at some future data without fear of puncturing the tubing.
