The grinding mill has a fixed grinding ring (2) mounted directly above a grinding disc (3) to which nutation is imparted by a swash plate (4). The rotation of the swashplate causes the width of the gap between the ring (2) and disc (3), at any given point, to increase and decrease periodically. At the same time the material being ground is moved radially outwards from the central charging point to the outer edges of the ring and disc and is discharged through the outlet (21).The two grinding surfaces are formed by two flat circular surfaces which are inclined to each other at an acute angle.
