The mechanism at a mobile servicing unit to spin in and/or change the bobbin, at an open-end spinning station, has at least one sensor at the yarn compensator to register the presence of a yarn at the compensator. It is coupled to an additional drive for the bobbin at the maintenance unit through a control. USE/ADVANTAGE - The mechanism takes up the slack in the yarn caused by the difference in winding and yarn take-off speeds, when the bobbin is slowed down for a change or spinning-in. The system automatically forms a yarn reserve at the bobbin sleeve and applies full control on the yarn through the control at the robot
