The recessed fixing system allows a ceiling light or electrical installation to be secured in an opening in a false ceiling, using an annular carrier (1) having a projecting flange edge fitting through the opening, supporting a holder (3) for the ceiling light etc. via a pair of axial struts (4) at the rear of the opening. The struts (4) have associated adjustable spring blades (5) which can be brought into engagement with the rear edge of the opening, to act in opposition to the peripheral edge of the annular carrier (1) engaging the front edge of the opening. The spring blade (5) is moved relative to the strut to effect clamping via an integral inwards directed finger grip (8). ADVANTAGE - Simple fitting in ceiling opening without requiring screws etc.
