Soldering iron consists of a grip section, soldering tip which moves with respect to the grip section along its longitudinal axis against a spring force, a solder wire feeding device which delivers wire to the soldering tip, and a control device connected to a path or force sensor which measures the relative movement of the soldering tip to grip section or the pressing foce of the tip against the solder area and controls the wire feed in response to the signal sensor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Automatic soldering. No need for personnel to operate additional switches etc.. If the required pressure on the solder tip is not maintained for the required time prior to feeding the wire and after feeding the wire, a fault signal is emitted.
