The attachment has its own mounting directly at the sewing table and independent of the sewing machine housing. The two elastic plates of the grip, in the assembled position, are cylindrical and concentric to each other, apart from a stright line extension at the point of the curves downwards from the sewing table by an angleof 75-105 deg.. The curved cylindrical length of the plates is at least the value of the advance movement. The advance movement drive for the two plates of the grip is a separate and reversible rotary drive unit with limit stops to give a preset rotary stroke. Its centre point is concentrically within the two cylindrical plates, with the drive output connected to the trailing ends of the plates. In the rest position, the leading ends of the plates are retracted against the line of advance movement from the guide slit to lie on a straight line between the guide slit and a point over the centre of the rotary drive, and then curve downwards larger than the gap of the two plates. The leading end of the ribbon is clamped automatically between the two cylindrical plates by tension on both plates at least at the leading ends through their forward movement into the straight section of their path. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for the feed and cutting of ribbon for a sewing machine. The attachment is simple and gives a reliable operation, is produced economically, occupies little space, and does not impede the sewing machine maintenance.
