Composite particles are produced by attaching a substance to the surface of thermoplastic material whose average particle size is 100 microns to 10mm the particles of the attached substance being smaller and having a higher heat resistance than the thermoplastic. The substance with the smaller particles is heated first to a temp. not lower than the softening point of the thermoplastic and it is stirred in a heated container; the thermoplastic is next added and the first substance is added to its particles. ADVANTAGE - The procedure enables composites to be made with large particle size thermoplastic material.
