A plywood panel (1) for use as a scaffold board is reinforced by parallel ribs (5) attached to one side longitudinally, and made of wood. Adhesive can be used for connection. The height (h) of the ribs is greater than the thickness (5) of the panel. The distance (a) between the ribs is equal to or greater than their width (B). The panel can be of blockboard construction, and the ribs can be made of horizontal strips glued together. Alternatively they can be vertical strips glued together and can also be reinforced by strip or wire inserts of e.g. metal, from end to end, at their junction point with the panel. USE/ADVANTAGE - The board permits easier handling and has improved weight carrying properties. Higher strength is ensured by placing one board on top of an inverted board.
