The black (5) and white (6) keys are mounted on a metal chassis. Each key is supported on a balance point (7) formed on a balancing rail (2) of plastic material. The keys locate on pins (3) arranged in a line. Operation of the keys causes a note generating switch (12) to be operated. At the rear of each key a stop contacts a hammer (8). The hammers are pivot mounted (38) and move to contact a detector (40) that controls the movement. A further stop (44) is engaged and the musical note is varied dependent upon the key action with a sense of touch fed back to the player. USE/ADVANTAGE - Electronic piano, organ or similar. Allows dynamic sense of touch between black and white keys to be varied.
