The hydraulic power system has a variable displacement pump (12a) that has the swash plate controlled by a servo actuator (32a) coupled to a valve (40a) with an input from a controller (22). The pump speed and swash plate angle are measured (48a,46a) and provide feedback to the controller. Output from the pump is supplied to valves (16) controlling a number of load devices (10) e.g. motors, linear actuators. Signals applied to the valves are based upon command signals (51,52,53). These signals are summed and provide the control setting to adjust the power supply. ADVANTAGE - Allows pump delivery to be adjusted to meet load demands.
