Gully fluid aerator - has gap between air outlet and propeller leading edge, to provide low cost air suction and fluid aeration arrangement

A propeller assembly mixes air into a fluid within a gully. The novelty is that the propeller (1) blade (6) leading edge (5) forms a narrow parallel gap against the flat face (10) of the air outlet chamber (3) which draws its air from a supply pipe (9) through which the propeller shaft runs. The air suction pipe (9) admits air to the low pressure area in front of the propeller. The air outlet is positioned where it is in the direct rotational path of the propeller. The propeller leading edge is at right angles to the propeller shaft. The face (8) of the air outlet chamber is of about the same diameter as the propeller leading edge (5) diameter. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement provides a low-cost and simple means of aerating fluid effluent.
