In order to check the snapping in of the pins of a multiple-pin connector, the latter is placed in an interchangeable support (19) mounted on the body (12) of a device furthermore comprising a member (20, 21) capable of being displaced towards the connector by means of a lever (26). The member (20, 21) supports checking pins (42a, 42b) which are thus brought into contact with some of the pins of the connector in order to verify the correct snapping in of the latter via calibrated springs (50). Since the number of the checking pins (42a, 42b) is considerably less than that of the pins of the connector, a plurality of checks are made, separated by rotations of a part (21) of the member (20, 21).
