The process according to the invention consists in the complete removal of fibril from dermal tissue of preconditioned, biologically stabilised and untanned skins using an exclusively mechanical means without the addition of a chemically active product, these preconditioned skins having been previously subjected to a deconditioning treatment with neutralising and bactericidal action. Application of the collagen obtained especially in the fields of human and animal nutrition, food packaging, body hygiene, human and animal pharmacy, and cosmetics and in the field of textile and paper-making industries.
