The invention relates to a preparation which is novel by its combination of certain plants or fruits or vegetables (excluding gherkins, onions and capers) in a vinegar solution with the novel additives, serving as a condiment for pork (delicatessen) products, poultry and cold meats and which can also be used for preparing mixed salads, sauces and other dishes. The method consists in adding certain additives, depending on the plants or fruits or vegetables used, to the basic solution, thereby enabling the aroma and taste of and the appetence for the food to be maximised.
