The invention relates to a fitting for a door, window or the like composed, on the one hand, of a bascule or bascule bolt comprising at least one operating linkage and, on the other hand, of an electric barring device provided with an immobilisation member moving, via an electric motor, perpendicularly to the direction of displacement of the operating linkage or linkages and interacting with such an operating linkage in the locked position of the latter. This fitting is characterised in that, between the immobilisation member (12) and the electric motor (13), are interposed elastic means (18) for accumulating energy for the purpose of accumulating the energy necessary for the displacement of the immobilisation member (12) from its barring position to its release position or vice-versa, in order to allow this displacement in a manner which is offset in time with respect to the operating control of the said electric motor (13).
