Fibre-optic polariser, its method of manufacture and application to a sensor

Fibre polariser comprising a hollow fibre (2) in which an internal housing (3, 4) located close to the core of the fibre (1) is at least fitted with one metal element (5, 6) over part of the length of the fibre. Applications and advantages: such a structure integrates a polariser into the optical fibre and makes it possible to avoid any coupling, such as that currently entailed between a polariser and a transmission fibre.
