The present invention relates to a switch/isolator for medium- and high-voltage electric lines, of the type comprising: a chassis (100), at least two insulators (200, 300) carried by the chassis (100), at least one of which is movable, two main contacts (230, 330) carried by respective insulators (200, 300) in order to be displaced on request between a closure position and an opening position, by manipulating at least one insulator (200, 300), and a whip-type structure (250, 350) linked to the main contacts (230, 330), characterised in that it comprises at least one flexible whip (250, 350) which extends outwards in a generally vertical direction, upwards away from the insulator (230, 330) which carries it and substantially at the centre of the switch/isolator, in closure position of the latter, to prevent birdlife landing on the switch/isolator.
