The seaweed cutting device consists of a cutting tool (1) and a drum (2), both rotate about the same axis (XX') but they rotate in opposite directions. A cage, for collecting the cut seaweed stems, is also provided on the same axis. The assembly of drum cutter and cage is carried by a tubular assembly (4), to provide the length to reach the sea bed. The drum is mounted at the bottom end of the tube and consists of a lower plate (24) and a larger diameter upper plate (21), with radial tubes (23) welded to both plates. Immediately above the upper plate is mounted the cutting tool (1) and the cage, which is fixed to the tool. The tool and the cage are driven by the outer tube (40) and the drum is driven in the opposite direction by the inner tube (41). USE/ADVANTAGE - It provides an economic and simple method for the cutting and collection of seaweed.
