The lock consists of a number of indicator wheels (2) which rotate in a housing (1), each linked to a counter-wheel (4) and made with a notch which controls the movement of a locking element (10). The wheels can also be separated from the counter-wheels to enable the combination to be changed. The lock housing contains a slider (9). The wheels and counter-wheels are separated by springs (5), and the slider holds the wheels against the counter-wheels in one position and releases them in another. The slider is spring-loaded by an elastic element (11) which also presses against the lock release element, e.g. a push-button (10). Each of the wheels (2) has inner radial arms which engage with recesses in the counter wheels when in the retracted position, and a head (6) which engages with an elongated recess (8) in the slider.
