The connector for a hydraulic circuit consists of a female piece (3) being part of the connecting unit (1) and a male piece (4) that is part of a tube (2) to be connected. The male part (4) is cylindrically formed so that it can slide into the cylindrical section of the female part (3). On the outside of the male part (4) is a circumferential groove (6) that is tapered to the free end (7) of the piece (4) and contains an O-ring (8) with a high degree of friction between it and the groove. When the male section (4) is inserted into the female part (3), the sealing and clamping is effected by the screwing up of a nut (14) threaded on the sleeve (16) of the male part (4) against the shoulder of the connector (1). The seal (8) is wedged in its housing by the retracting action of the male piece (4). Use/Advantage - As a connector for hydraulic circuits limited to a pressure of 5 bar where the head of the elbow can be orientated and fixed in any direction.
