The roll-over protection system has potentiometers fitted so that as the vehicle sinks on its suspension as the load is increased the potentiometers give a measure of the load on the vehicle. The potentiometer data is delivered to an on-board computer, which computes the loading on each side of the axle. The speed of the vehicle is monitored and compared to the safe speed for the vehicle under the measured loading conditions. If the safe speed is exceeded the computer initially warns the driver, then interrupts the operation of the fuel pump, and finally applies the brakes.
