Pot plant packaging system - sets pot in recessed half-shells of semi-rigid synthetic foam, shaped to hold plant and retain substrate moisture

The pot plant packaging system consists of two identical half-shells (1,1') made from a semi-rigid material with outer dimensions which match the inner dimensions of a container in which the plant it to be packed. Each half-shell is recessed to fit round the pot, holding it and its substrate in place during transportation. The half-shells are pref. moulded from a two-component semi-rigid synthetic foam, such as polyurethane, designed so that the plant is held firmly without crushing and moisture is retained in the substance. The pot can be fitted with a collar (11) of synthetic foam to hold the substrate in place, and each half-shell can be made to contain one or more pots, with the plant tops covered by the container. ADVANTAGE - Light in weight and reduced risk of damage to plants during transportation.
