The basin has an elongate wedge-shaped body, defining at one end a bowl (5) connected to a water supply (11) and drainage (10) conduits and openings. The drainage conduit is connectable to a suction source associated with a pneumatic control conduit (12) controlled by a push-button (12'). The part of the basin surrounding the bowl forms a seat with a circular rim (2). The remainder of the basin body inclines downwardly from the bowl rim to define a backrest for a patient seated in the bowl, and includes grooves (4) to increase its rigidity.
