Cooling of gas esp. air e.g. for cooler or humidifier - using vaporisation of water droplets formed by use of ultrasonic waves which are focussed in jet, creating vortex effect and pass up through ventilator opening
The ultrasonic waves are delivered by an electrostrictive or piezoelectric transducer (4) and focussed by reflection on an appropriate geometric surface (8). A deflector (12) creates a depression in the middle of the jet (9) using various sections (11,16) permitting the generation of vortex or venturi effects. The rotatable axis of the reflection surface is vertical w.r.t. that of the jet. The transducer is formed of a cell (5) comprising an acoustic propagation liquid, a cavity (3) and a wall (6) in the form of a membrane. The membrane is made of a material e.g. latex in which the acoustic impedance is near that of the vaporised liquid. Several transducers with different characteristics produce ultrasonic waves which are focussed by the same element (10). The element is metallic and connected to a box (1) made of plastic. ADVANTAGE - Is able to vaporise large quantity of liquid using reduced electrical power consumption.
