An automatic device for smooth accumulation of objects on a roller conveyor and adapted to be used with any standard roller conveyor available on the market comprises a transmission belt 3 driven by a motor 6 and friction coupled to conveyor rollers through counter-rollers 2 located between the conveyor rollers and movable vertically in order to vary the torque applied to the conveyor rollers 1. Calibration of the device on a prefixed value of the torque can be carried out manually by adjusting two variable position supports 5, 9 for moving a bar 4 on which the counter-rollers 2 are rotatably mounted or by remote control through reduction motor coupled with the position supports.
