PURPOSE:To manufacture a coil having no torsion by inserting and holding a wire to be worked whose cross section is non-circular in the minor axis direction of the cross section by feed rollers, suppling it to a coiling device of a coil pin, a pitch roll, etc., through a guide and bringing the feed roller and the guide to deflection integrally. CONSTITUTION:A wire to be worked (b) is fed to a guide (c) through feed rollers a1-a3. Inserting and holding force of this feed roller is adjusted by an air cylinder. The wire to be worked (b) is fitted into a non-circular through-hole l of the guide (c) and brought to theta deg. deflection angle by the guide (c), supplied to a mandrel (d), bent to a prescribed curvature by coiling pins e1, e2 and a coil B is manufactured. A moving amount corresponding to the curvature of the coiling pin, a supply speed of the feed roller, a moving amount of a pitch roll (h), and a cutting machine (f) are controlled by an NC controller and synchronized. Also, by providing a means for bringing the feed roller and the guide (c) to theta deg. deflection angle, the roller can rotate against a plane. In such a way, a torsion caused by a variance of a cross sectional shape of the wire to be worked, and a torsion caused by a deflection angle of only the guide are prevented, and a service life of the feed roller can be extended.
