PURPOSE:To obtain the subject feed excellent in feed effects by dissolving specific seaweeds in a dilute alkaline aqueous solution, adding an animal or vegetable protein-containing material thereto, regulating pH, etc., as necessary, adding a calcium salt thereto, further solidifying the resultant mixture in an aqueous solution of the calcium salt and drying the solidified mixture. CONSTITUTION:The objective feed obtained by dissolving 5-80wt.% (in the resultant product) seaweeds (e.g. sea tangle or WAKAME seaweed) containing alginic acid in a dilute alkaline aqueous solution at 60-100 deg.C for 2-6hr, adding an animal or vegetable protein-containing material containing caseins into the resultant solution, regulating the mixture so as to provide 10-40wt.% protein content and =0.5wt.% casein content, further regulating pH to 6.5-9.5, as necessary, adding and mixing calcium chloride in an amount up to 6wt.% based on the seaweeds, then solidifying the obtained mixture in an aqueous solution of the calcium salt, treating the solidified mixture with microwaves and drying the resultant treated mixture.
