A probe for detecting Salmonella comprises: a labeled substance, and a DNA or RNA fragment which hybridizes with a base sequence having the following formula ( I ), or ( II ) being complementary to the formula ( I ) 5 min -GCTCAGACGTATGGCGGTA-3 min ( I ) 3 min -CGAGTCTGCATACCGCCAT-5 min ( II ) Also described are methods and kits for detecting Salmonella by using said probe. The probe reduces a time required for detecting Salmonella.
