WET TYPE POLISHING TAPE AND WET TYPE POLISHING METHOD USING THE TAPE

PURPOSE: To provide a polishing tape and a method wherein uniform and high quality wet polishing is executed, polishing processing is continuously executed, and a labor is saved. ;CONSTITUTION: A wet type polishing tape consists of a base material for polishing of a fibrous base material formed of non-woven cloth and a water resistant paper sheet; and a polishing layer formed thereon. In a case a water resistant plastic base material, such as polyethylene terephthalate, is laminated on the back of the fibrous base material, the strength of a tape is improved and satisfied, and strike through of polishing chips is prevented from occurring. The tape is continuously fed in a rolled state and in a case polishing liquid containing hydrophilic polishing particles are adhered to the tape, which is slid over a substance to be polished, continuous polishing is carried out without a frequent work to exchange a polishing body and a labor can be saved.
