PURPOSE: To easily test the accuracy of a digitizer and a plotter by obtaining displacement between the coordinates of reference points on a reference drawing and the digitizer and calculating the standard error between displacements before and after applying affine transformation to the obtained displacement. ;CONSTITUTION: An operator sticks the reference drawing 5 to the digitizer 1 and inputs the coordinates of reference points A1, A2,... through the use of an indicator 7. A computer 3 determines displacement xi and yi from the inputted coordinates (Xi,Yi) on the digitizer 1 and the coordinates (X°i, Y°i)of the respective reference points on the reference drawing 5 in accordance with xi= Xi-X°i, yi =Yi-y°i calculates the correction parameter of the digitizer 1 by affine-transforming displacement xi and Yi and calculates the standard error between displacement before/after correction by the correction parameter.
