Scale discharging device for walking beam type heating furnace

PURPOSE:To easily discharge the scale accumulated in a water sealing trough which moves cooperatively with moving beams by providing said water sealing trough and scraper for removing the scale to a walking beam type heating furnace. CONSTITUTION:High-temp. steel ingots on the moving skids 2 of the walking beam type steel ingot heating furnace are transferred from the inlet side to the discharge side by the rectangular movement of the skids 2. The scale on the steel ingot surfaces falls onto the bottom of the water sealing trough 6 and accumulates in the bottom A on the charging side. A moving frame 4 of the trough 6 connected by a post 3 ascends as the skids 2 ascend and a guide rail 22 is simultaneously raised by a fixing bar 21 mounted to the frame 4. The scraper 12 supported by a wheel 15 in contact with the rail 22 moves as the guide rail ascends and a scraping member 11 at the front end thereof scrapes up the scale A along a slope 31 at the slight spacing and discharges the scale to the outside. Since there is a slight spacing between the member 11 and the slope 31 in the bottom of the trough 6, the scale is automatically discharged cooperatively with the movement of the moving skids without damaging both the scraper and the water sealing trough.
