METHOD FOR DISPLAYING ARBITRARY CROSS-SECTION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL SCALAR FIELD

PURPOSE: To reduce the load of the calculating processing of a crossing part by operating decision based on a geometric graphic for escaping the processing of an iso facet in the part of a three-dimensional geometrical graphic which is not crossed by a cross-section. ;CONSTITUTION: A geometry modeler and mesher 110 sets the data structure of a mesh dividing a three-dimensional geometric graphic. A scalar field generator 112 generates the index of a three-dimensional scalar field. Both the mesh and scalar fields are applied to an iso face generator 114, and stored through an iso facet catalog 115 in an accessable turn point catalog 116. The iso face generator 114 applies display data to a display device 118 including a graphics driver 119.
