MANUFACTURE OF DRY GRANULAR COAL FUEL HAVING LOW SPONTANEOUS IGNITABILITY FROM GRANULAR LOW-GRADE COAL

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fuel with low spontaneous ignition characteristics and which is stable and can be stored by a method wherein after particulate low quality coal is dried, it is brought into contact with cooling gas and water is sprayed on the coal and then, the water is approximately completely evaporated. ;CONSTITUTION: A particulate low quality coal selected from subbituminous coal, lignite and brown coal is fed into a coal drying zone to form dry coal and then, it is introduced into a coal cooling zone, where it is brought into contact with cooling gas and water with a quantity being controlled so as to be enough amt. for removing a required amt. of heat is sprayed on the dry coal and the water is approximately completely evaporated from the coal to obtain dry cooled coal cooled to a temp. being approximately at 38°C or lower.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
